Could I set a glass of water IN my computer case to help cool the ambient air?

It makes sense if I think about it, as long as we don't have an earthquake or something that could spill the water. Having a glass of tap water inside my massive computer case should help dissipate a lot of the heat going on inside of it, am i right?
If you have a "massive computer case", why don't you do something a little more intelligent like adding more case fans? A $2 fan is cheaper than replacing something else inside your computer.
