Is the central processing unit of a computer compatible to both 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems?

I've only known and currently using 32-bit. can I reformat and use 64-bit next? thanks. :) or does a CPU strictly made for 32-bit or 64-bit only that it's not possible to change?
You cannot install the 64bit software unless the computer supports it. If you have a computer that is 64 bit compatible then you can install 32 or 64bit. Without knowing what kind of computer you have, I can't give you a direct answer.
